What we did
An internal security audit surfaced 14 critical findings — exposed secrets in CI environment variables, overly permissive IAM roles, missing encryption at rest, and no runtime threat detection.
We triaged by blast radius, sealed the most acute exposures in the first week, then worked through the remainder systematically. Secrets moved into Vault with auto-rotation. IAM roles were tightened using least-privilege tooling. Runtime detection via Falco was deployed across the cluster with alerting wired into the on-call rotation.
The team passed their SOC 2 Type I audit three weeks ahead of the deadline.
